The business acumen provides the platform upon which students can develop specific skills and competencies offered by the School's majors and minors. Students are required to earn a “C” or better in all acumen courses. Please see this article for further instructions on Major specific minimum grade requirements.

The Huntsman School is no longer admitting new students to the Business Administration (Business Admin) Major but are admitting students to the Management major. Students who are already declared Business Administration Majors will be able to complete their degree program, following teach-out regulations.

A course description is a brief summary of the significant learning experiences for a course. Course descriptions appear in individual course outlines and in the Program of Studies (POSs) for individual programs.

Students may repeat and retake up to ten courses in their academic career if needed however, there is a difference between the USU repeat policy and the Huntsman School of Business repeat policy.

The Data Analytics experience includes real-world problem-solving across all functions of an organization, including strategy, sales and marketing, accounting, finance, human resources, and operations.

DegreeWorks is USU’s degree-audit tool. A degree audit worksheet is a review of past and current coursework organized into completed and incomplete requirements.

Differential tuition are additional tuition and fees separate from the tuition charged by the university. Currently, six of the seven colleges at Utah State University charge differential tuition.

Economics (ECON) is the social science that analyzes the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in order to explain how economies work. Students in the economics major learn how to think critically, solve problems, work with numbers, in addition to a variety of other skills.

When a change of matriculation is desired, a student must go to the department office in which he/she is presently enrolled to initiate the proper paperwork and apply for the desired major. For a change of major, signatures of representatives from both departments are required on the form before it is sent to the Registrar's Office.

The Huntsman Scholar Program is a highly selective undergraduate business and economics program offered to a select group of Direct Admit students into the Huntsman School on the Logan campus. After the waitlist is removed, students that want to add a class that is full can now complete the “Registration Options form.” This shows the add/drop courses. They must receive the instructor’s signature then bring the form to the advisor for authorization. This does not guarantee them a spot in the class, but the advisor will give them the authorization to register if a spot opens.

The Master of Accounting (MAcc) program at Utah State University provides students with the opportunity to prepare themselves to be successful in the various career paths available in the accounting profession. With a nationally-ranked pass rate on the CPA exam, the program also helps interested students to successfully prepare for this professional certification exam

Students in the Huntsman School of Business are required to complete STAT 2300 or STAT 2000 as part of their program requirements. In addition, Economics students must also complete MATH 1100 or MATH 1210. ALEKS is a math program that may help students to prepare. You may need to complete a Math placement exam prior to registering for your Math course.

Adding a minor to your program of study is an excellent way to position yourself for career success. With 20 minors to choose from, you can customize your Huntsman experience. Is a business major currently not part of your plan? The business minor is designed to give you the essential business knowledge and skills to complement any major outside the Huntsman School.

Undergraduate students who wish to take a break from their studies for one or more semesters (other than summer semester), for a variety of reasons, must file a Notification of Leave or Deferral (deferment) form online.

All business acumen courses are offered online. The business acumen, also referred to as the core classes, are the classes that all business students must take, regardless of their specific focus of study.

Business Administration (TEACH OUT) and Economics are the only business degrees offered completely online through distance education at this time. However, several degrees are offered through a combination of online classes and at our Statewide Campus locations.

The Pre-Business (pre-biz/pre-bis) major is available for students preparing to apply for admission into the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Pre-Business students are not advised by the Huntsman School of Business and will need to work with the Exploratory Advising office in TSC 304.

Utah State's classrooms extend far beyond the borders of its residential campus in Logan. There are 33 campuses and centers across the state where you can take classes via interactive video conferencing, face-to-face with local instructors, or online.

Generally, less upper-division classes are offered during the summer, but most of the business core classes are offered.

At the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, we provide students a high-quality undergraduate business experience. Along with career-relevant classes and professors who care, students have opportunities to study abroad, participate in internships, and apply classroom business principles in the real world. Students who attempt to register for a class that is full may put themselves on a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis. When an open seat becomes available, an e-mail will be sent to the “preferred” e-mail address of the student at the top of the waiting list.
