In South America students get to work with our partners DanPer and its not-for-profit subsidiary Sembrando Fruturo to help the people in the area of Trujillo, Peru help themselves out of poverty. The students will work with the loan applicants to assess the feasibility of the business plan that the applicants have developed. After several days of due diligence the students make a recommendation to the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business on whether to fund the project or not. This loan application process is done in conjunction with a training program called S.E.E.D. (Small Enterprise Education and Development). The SEED program is designed to give people the basic knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in starting a business.
