The South America study tour will include visits to world-class international business sites, discussions with business leaders, and an opportunity to explore the language, culture and history of Chile, Brazil and Peru. In addition to business-site visits and lectures, the student teams will be serving with local health and nutrition professionals to increase child nutrition in Willoq, Peru; conducting a 5-day eyeglass clinic in the communities surrounding Trujillo, Peru, and providing due-diligence support to the Huntsman School Small Enterprise Education and Development Program (SEED) that operates in several rural communities in central Peru. The purpose of the South America study tour is to empower students as they navigate through an increasingly complex global business environment while cultivating a service ethic that will place Huntsman School students in positions of leadership and influence in the organizations where they work and in the communities where they live and serve.
For five weeks during May and June 2010, Huntsman business students will travel to South Korea, China, and Vietnam to gain a better understanding of the business environments of these countries. They will visit with company executives and government officials and will have an opportunity to learn firsthand how these leaders are tackling the opportunities and challenges of these dynamic markets. The purpose of this program is to empower students to realize their potential as they prepare themselves for their professional careers as leaders and decision makers in the context of a global marketplace.
