Competitive Events

NOTEs/CHANGES TO THE COMPETITION:

  • Objective Tests and Performance Events will be judged separately.  Events that normally require an objective test AND a performance event will be judged as two separate events and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner will be announced for the objective test and performance event.
  • Events will be judged based on updated FBLA guidelines
  • Team events must consist of 2-3 Members

*9th and 10th grade students are the only ones who can take these tests, however, 9th and 10th grade students may also compete in any of the "Open Objective Test Events" and are not limited to these tests alone.

PERFORMANCE EVENTS

Business Ethics (Team Event) - Online Business Ethics Guidelines

  • Students should select a case study beforehand based on the Case Study Topic for the 2014 FBLA NLC. Students should bring 2 copies of a 500 word case synopsis (with reference section) with them to their scheduled presentation time. 

Emerging Business Issues (Team Event) - Online Emerging Business Issues Guidelines

  • Use the 2014 FBLA National Topic (Students will decide beforehand to present an affirmative or negative argument)

Entrepreneurship (Team Event) - Online Entrepreneurship Guidelines

  • The case study will be given to students 20 minutes before their presentation time.  

Future Business Leader - Online Future Business Leader Guidelines

  • Students will bring a one-page letter of application and a brief resume (not to exceed 2 pages) to their scheduled interview time. 

Global Business (Team Event) - Online Global Business Guidelines

  • The case study will be given to students 20 minutes before their presentation time.  

Impromptu Speaking - Online Impromptu Speaking Guidelines

  • The topic will be given to students 10 minutes before their presentation time.

Job Interview - Online Job Interview Guidelines

  • Students should bring 2 copies of their cover letter, resume, and job application to their scheduled interview time

Marketing (Team Event) - Online Marketing Guidelines

  • The case study will be given to students 20 minutes before their presentation time.  

Public Speaking l (9th – 10th grade only) - Online Public Speaking I Guidelines

  • Students should prepare a 4 minute speech from one or more of the FBLA-PBL goals.

Public Speaking ll - Online Public Speaking II Guidelines

  • Students should prepare a 5 minute speech from one or more of the FBLA-PBL goals.

Sports & Entertainment Management (Team Event) - Online Sports & Entertainment Management Guidelines

  • The case study will be given to students 20 minutes before their presentation time.
