Awesome: Utah State University “E-Week Rail Jam and Business Expo”

Utah State University, home of Aggie Ice Cream and agriculture, beautiful mountains and… entrepreneurship? It was Entrepreneur Week (or “E-Week”) on campus, and the entrepreneurial spirit is in the air. Last week there was an event held every day that focused in on fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of USU students. Close to 70 students participated in the elevator pitch contest with the chance to win some big money to launch their proposed ideas. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council even brought out their big guns and sponsored the “E-Week Rail Jam and Business Expo”.
I had the opportunity to peruse the expo and watch some amazing snowboarders and skiers in action on the rails setup in the parking lot of Romney Stadium. Although the rail jam was exciting, the real action was happening at the booths of Stacked Pancakes, Green Armadillo Gear, Rayne Unlimited, Frozen Apparel, and Take The Cake, along with a handful of other businesses. Each of the businesses mentioned here in the article are all student run companies. I was specifically drawn to Take The Cake; it may be because of my obsession with the sugary desert, or simply the immaculate designs of the cakes presented.
