The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University has selected a University of Utah professor known for his research in workplace dynamics for one of its distinguished presidential chair positions.

Scott Schaefer, a professor of finance at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business, began his professorship at USU this semester, the school of business announced in a news release Tuesday. He is teaching an undergraduate managerial economics class and leads several seminars for faculty and students.

“The decisive factors in selecting Dr. Schaefer were his pioneering research at the intersection of finance and economics, which is a great fit for our department, and his reputation as an engaging teacher,” said Tyler Bowles, head of the economics and finance department.
