Upcoming Shingo Prize Conference to Feature Business Leaders, Professional Athletes
Hundreds of people, from prominent business executives to former professional athletes, will be attending the upcoming international conference sponsored by Utah State University’s The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence.
The 2012 Shingo Prize International Conference, with the theme “Building the Architecture for Operational Excellence, Every Leader a Teacher and Accelerating Transformation,” will feature keynote addresses from top-level management executices and honor several companies for their continuous improvement efforts. It will be held from April 30 to May 4, in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Shingo Prize, part of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, is focused on “bringing the highest standard of excellence to organizations around the world and teaching them how to build their improvement efforts into the fabric of the company,” said Robert Miller, executive director for The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence.
In addition to prominent business leaders, a number of professional athletes who live in Florida have been invited to come to the opening social. NBA Hall of Famer Artis Gilmore, New York Jets Super Bowl champion lineman Paul Rochester, former NBA and Olympic gold medalist Christian Laettner, PGA Golf Tour Champion Len Mattiace, Oakland Raiders Super Bowl champion Pete Banaszak, and Boston Celtics champion Sam Jones are expected to attend.
