New Website Argues There is Something To Do in Logan

A former Jon M. Huntsman School of Business student came up with an idea for a web-based business after she got a lot of complaints about nothing.

Natalee Champlin, who recently starting working at the Huntsman School of Business as the staff assistant for marketing and branding, and for entrepreneurial programs, said the idea for her website grew from discussions she had with co-workers and friends.
“It seemed I would always hear people talk about how there isn’t a whole lot to do in Cache Valley,” Natalee said. “I knew that wasn’t the case, but it was at that point I realized people needed a place to find out what is going on in Cache Valley.”
Natalee’s website, www.nothingtodoinlogan.com, was launched as a one-stop shop for people who want to know about what is happening and what they can do for fun in Cache Valley.
“The website is a resource for people looking to find something to do,” she said. ‘It has features like ‘500 Date Ideas,’ and ‘100 Free Things To Do.’ Each week I publish a “Weekend Guide,” highlighting things that are going on in the valley. The site is meant to be interactive and anyone is encouraged to submit events to the calendar.”
Natalee, who graduated in 2010 with a dual degree in finance and economics, said the website is not just for individuals.
“We welcome businesses that are looking to get their name out there through advertising,” Natalee said. “We really want this to be a place where anyone can come and see how they can put their money back into Cache Valley to help our local economy.”
Even though the site has already generated more than 50,000 page views, Natalee said they have yet to really tap the potential market for the service the website offers.
“This is something that is definitely long term,” she said. “We plan to take this same idea to other college towns around Utah, then the United States and, quite possibly, the world.”
