Business Core Classes Assessment. Each department in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business teaches two or more courses in the business core curriculum required of all majors. As part of our assessment effort, learning goals for each core course have been developed. Progress made in achieving selected learning goals is assessed through pre- and post-tests in each course. The charts below show the students’ progress from pre-tests given at the beginning of the semester to the post-tests given at semester end.

Student Course Evaluations. The Utah State University Teacher/Course Evaluation is administered in all MIS courses at the end of each semester. This instrument contains four sections of quantitative rankings (general, course information, instruction, and student demographic data) and provides space for written comments on the back.
External Course Review. The MIS Department engages IS practitioners and executives that serve on our Management Information Systems Advisory Council to review syllabi, pedagogy, exams, and other course materials for core MIS courses in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Recent reviews helped us in our recent revamping of both the undergraduate and masters programs.
Graduate Student Placement. A key indicator of success of the doctoral programs is the placement of the students. Our program produces students to go to regional universities. In addition, it provides a means for faculty already employed at regional universities to obtain advanced credentials. A list of recent graduates is provided.
Ph.D. Comprehensive Exams. All Ph.D. students are required to complete comprehensive examinations before being admitted into candidacy for the degree.
