Recently one of our own, Lars Hansen, was awarded a Nobel Laureate in Economics. Lars’s accomplishments are the most notable—and the most recent—reasons to celebrate the success of the Huntsman School, but by no means are they isolated. Jill Aoki and Anthony Lemon from the Huntsman School were two of just 39 students, out of 92,000 test takers, to receive the 2013 Elijah Watt Sells Award for top scores on the CPA Exam.

Last spring the Economics & Finance Department was awarded the 2013 Teaching Excellence Award by Utah State University, and this Fall, the School of Accountancy was ranked # 34 nationally, out of more than 600 accounting programs.

This recognition comes as a result of hiring top talent, many from renowned programs such as Stanford, Chicago, Northwestern, Pepperdine, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and the University of Texas. Our students have benefitted from this teaching excellence by garnering a variety of national academic awards, placement in top graduate programs, and launching meaningful careers.

Recently we broke ground for Huntsman Hall, a student-centered building that will be as important for its symbolic value as it is for its 21 new classrooms and 21 new student meeting rooms.

Our journey continues, and it is made possible by the support of our many alumni and friends.

Thank you for all you do to build the Huntsman School community.
