Biography

Barbara Sidwell has worked in a variety of global, academic and business fields including teaching, training, commercial insurance and not-for-profit industries. She earned her Master of Science degree in human resource management from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Whitman College. She was one of the first teachers of English at Yunnan University’s Department of Foreign Trade in Kunming, China, as well as an English teacher of GEOS International English School in Tokushima, Japan. She also led tours throughout China prior to the Tiananmen Square protests.

Barbara has worked as a commercial insurance broker in Seattle, serving diverse clients in the aerospace, health care, technology and manufacturing industries, and not-for-profit arts organizations. She has also worked at a $30 million endowed community foundation. Most recently, she has been involved in the technology research field of High Performance Computing at Utah State University.
