Biography
Cheryl Cannell Burgess has 25 years of experience teaching and authoring business, technology, and marketing curriculum. She's written a combination of projects, semester-length courses, statewide assessments, and certificated programs of study for Utah State University, Weber State University, Idaho State University, Bridgerland Technology College, Boise State University, Idaho State Board of Education, and the Utah State Board of Education.
She earned her master's degree in educational technology with an online education emphasis through Boise State University and her undergraduate degrees from the very department she now teaches for at Utah State. When graduating with her bachelor of science degree from Utah State University, she was honored as "Student Teacher of the Year" for CTE/Business. Cheryl has taught students ranging in age from 14 to 91 in online and traditional classroom settings. She has a deep interest in all things related to business, communication, technology, economics, and web and graphic design. One thing she can't decide is whether she's more right-brained and creative or left-brained and analytical. Outside of work, Cheryl loves interior design and selecting textures that work well together in residential settings, baking, reading, going to the gym, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her top priority as an educator is for students to come away from her classes having gained skills and resources that will benefit their futures.
