Bank of Utah, Ogden, has promoted Eric D. DeFries and Jeff Norton to take on additional responsibilities in mortgage and consumer finance and business lending. DeFries advanced to vice president of mortgage and consumer finance. He works at the bank’s main branch in Ogden and previously served as assistant vice president, secondary marketing manager and as a secondary marketing analyst. He has worked as a member of the mortgage department management team and was involved in strategic planning. Prior to that time, he worked for Goldman Sachs & co as an operations analyst. DeFries holds a BS degree in finance with a minor in economics from Utah State University. Norton will now serve as assistant vice president and relationship manager for Bank of Utah’s Tremonton branch. Norton has worked for four years for Bank of Utah as a relationship manager, assisting businesses and individuals with commercial loans. He holds a degree in finance and economics from Utah State University and worked in business lending for four years at Sun First Bank in St. George.
