Todd Jones was born in Texas in 1986 to Randy and Eve Jones, who are both USU Alumni.
He grew up in Brigham City, UT with his three siblings.
He has many interests, including photography, sports, and music.
He enjoys being outside and has run two marathons.
Todd is also an Eagle Scout.
He is a big Utah State sports fan and while working as a photojournalist for The Utah Statesman had the opportunity to photograph USU in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl as well as the WAC and NCAA basketball tournaments.
In addition, he has photographed the Utah Jazz and Real Salt Lake.
Todd loves to travel and has been in over 20 countries around the world.
As a child, he lived in Germany with his family for 2 ½ years.
This gave him the chance to visit numerous European countries.
After attending USU for a year, Todd served a full-time, two-year LDS mission in Sweden.
Before returning to USU, he moved to China to live with his family.
He studied Mandarin Chinese at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.
Todd worked as a statistics intern at the Salt Lake City office of the National Agricultural Statistical Service.
He was later a statistics intern at Autoliv, an automotive safety products company.
Todd graduated from USU in May 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and minors in Mathematics and Chinese.
He will graduate in Summer 2012 with a Master’s degree in Statistics.
During his time at USU, Todd received several scholarships and a fellowship, including the Presidential Scholarship, the National Advisory Board Scholarship (twice), and the School of Graduate Studies Vice President for Research Fellowship.
In August 2012, Todd will pursue a PhD in Economics at Cornell University, where he has been awarded a Sage Fellowship.
He plans to study applied microeconomics and labor economics.
He would like to become a Professor of Economics.
