Success in business can come before your hair turns grey. At least that’s true if you look to Justin Hamilton as an example. Justin, who is 27, is the owner of two successful restaurants in Cache Valley, Café Sabor and Hamilton’s Steak and Seafood.
Mr. Hamilton, who is originally from Idaho Falls, came to Utah State on a Presidential Scholarship. He found that serving on the President’s Leadership Council and in other student government positions gave him valuable leadership experience. When he was here, he made the Dean’s List every term and he graduated with a GPA of 3.68 in economics and political science. He also won the prestigious Robins Memorial Award. Mr. Hamilton feels that his academic successes helped him build the self confidence he needed to take on new challenges.
Café Sabor, a Mexican and Latino bistro, is located at the old train station on Center Street in Logan and Hamilton’s Steak and Seafood is located in North Logan on Main Street.
With the help of family and friends, Mr. Hamilton opened Café Sabor. He wanted to put together a restaurant that was unique. His idea was to open a restaurant that would prove a gathering place for college students and a welcome venue for families. Those who have gone to Café Sabor know he has succeeded.
The idea of Hamilton’s was extensively researched. He traveled to fine steakhouses around the country to learn exactly how to create a great dining experience. He wanted to open a restaurant with exceptional cuisine that would satisfy the need for people who want to entertain customers or host special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, or weddings. Hamilton’s has an elegant and comfortable atmosphere with exceptional food. Customers in formal attire or casual dress alike find the restaurant the right destination.
Mr. Hamilton was president of the President’s Leadership Council and was a member of the Student Alumni Association Executive Board for two consecutive years. He has volunteered with the Red Cross as a Youth Ambassador and with Habitat for Humanity. He has worked with Nuestro Futuro, an after-school program for Latino youth, and is a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He also held numerous ASUSU leadership positions.
Mr. Hamilton’s accomplishments are truly a reminder that we each have within ourselves the power to make our dreams come true.
