Biography

As the CEO and majority shareholder of HB Workplaces, Dave Colling stands as a passionate believer in the power of great, thoughtful designs to impact people’s lives positively and profoundly. Dave firmly believes in the power of a well-designed space to provide the most efficient environment for people to work, learn, live, heal, and play. With a career spanning 33 years, this mindset has allowed for Dave to create lasting impact as he’s evolved throughout the contract interiors industry—with early experience at Armstrong World Industries, then Herman Miller, and ultimately HB Workplaces.

HB Workplaces has locations in four states and employs over 260 people. Their dealership represents major manufacturers such as MillerKnoll, Spacesaver, and DIRTT, while providing furnishings, custom modular interior construction, specialty storage, and floor coverings.

Dave also proudly defines himself as a “serial entrepreneur” who has created over twelve businesses during his career—including various distribution platforms for a variety of interior products, collective workspace, and specialty contractors. His formal education consists of a B.S. in Marketing from Colorado State University (’89) and an MBA from Utah State University (’94).
