Biography

Dave Bailey is currently serving as CEO and director of InteliSum, Inc. (ISI). He is a seasoned entrepreneurial executive and founder of many software/hardware companies. These companies include Iomega, Inc., a data storage equipment supplier; Cericor, a developer of CAD/CAM software that was sold to Hewlett-Packard; Ceristar, a public company that is a developer and provider of converged (voice, video and data) network services; and VZ Corp., an object-oriented software development company. Mr. Bailey served as the founder and chief executive officer in every instance.

Other highlights of his distinguished career include the following:

  • Spent 15 years in engineering and management at IBM Corporation.
  • Served as Managing Partner of the DLB Group, a limited-liability company that marketed and sold computer software and telecommunications products.
  • As chairman and CEO of Clyde Digital Systems (Raxco), a software security development company, Mr. Bailey led the company until it went public as Axent Corporation, which later became Symantec.
  • Most recognized as the lead founder, president, and chief executive officer of Iomega, which is currently valued at more than $1.0 billion.
  • The MountainWest Venture Group in Salt Lake City selected Mr. Bailey as "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 1988 for his role as its lead founder.
  • Mr. Bailey is a 2002 recipient of the Utah Information Technologies Association "Entrepreneur of the Year" award.
  • Holds four patents issued in the United States.
  • He has been honored with a distinguished alumnus award in electrical engineering from Utah State University, where he received his B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees.
