Austin Kwag received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea) and served in the Korean Army for three years as a special officer. He earned his masters’ degrees in Political Science (2001) and Business Statistics (1998) from Florida State University and Texas Tech University respectively. His final degree is a Ph.D. in Finance (2002) from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK). Austin taught basic finance courses at UTK for two years and joined the faculty of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University (USU) in the fall of 2002 as an assistant professor of finance. He got tenured in 2008 and is currently an associate professor of finance. He has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses at USU and published articles in Financial Analysts Journal (FAJ), The Financial Review (FR), Journal of Applied Finance (JAF), Finance Research Letters (FRL), Journal of Economics and Finance (JEF), and Managerial Finance (MF) among others. His current research interests concern the regulatory impact on investor psychology. He is married to Youngmi Kei for about two decades and a proud father of 3 kids – two daughters and a son.
